The transportation industry in The Bahamas is reserved for Bahamians. The Bahamas Development Bank has historically been the primary financier for mail boats in the country. Mail boats offer a lifeline for many islands communities, offering trade and passenger cargo. BDB also finances taxis, buses, and water vessels.
