Integrated Land Management

Building Resilient Farms and Thriving Communities
At the Bahamas Development Bank (BDB), we believe that long-term national development must balance economic growth, environmental protection, and social inclusion. That’s why we’re proud to play a key role in the Integrated Land Management (ILM) Project—an ambitious, multi-partner initiative, led by Department of Environmental Planning and Protection(DEPP) focused on sustainable land use and climate-smart agriculture.
Agriculture remains a critical livelihood across our islands, but challenges like land degradation, limited financing, and lack of business support have slowed progress. We’re here to change that. The Bahamas Development Bank (BDB) was proud to serve on the steering committee of the Andros Community-Tourism Cluster Initiative—a transformative effort uniting over 120 local enterprises, entrepreneurs, and agencies across North, Central, South Andros, and Mangrove Cay.
Driving Agricultural Transformation
In partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF), DEPP, BAMSI, and CARDI, BDB is leading the implementation of Component III of the ILM Project. Our mission? To empower Bahamian farmers with the tools, knowledge, and financing they need to succeed.
