The Warren Logan Rolle Apprenticeship Program
The Warren Logan Rolle Apprenticeship Program is a structured, multi-year opportunity offered exclusively to students at the University of The Bahamas. Designed for individuals pursuing degrees in business, finance, economics, and related disciplines, the program provides hands-on experience within the Bahamas Development Bank while supporting academic achievement through a full scholarship covering tuition and fees. Apprentices gain exposure to the Bank’s operations, receive professional mentorship, and contribute to projects that advance national development. The program is ideal for high-performing students who demonstrate discipline, ambition, and a commitment to public and financial sector leadership.

Merisha is a senior-year student at the University of The Bahamas pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Finance. She joined the Warren Logan Rolle Apprenticeship Program in 2021 and has since made significant strides both academically and professionally.
Through the program, she has received comprehensive on-the-job training and professional exposure across several key departments at the Bahamas Development Bank, including Banking Operations & Accounts, Compliance and Document Control, Human Resources, Strategic Development and Initiatives, and Credit Risk and Delinquency. Her experience has provided her with a well-rounded foundation in development banking and public-sector finance, preparing her for future leadership in the field.

Octovia was one of the inaugural participants in the Warren Logan Rolle Apprenticeship Program, starting in 2019.
With full financial support, she successfully completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at the University of The Bahamas, North. Throughout the program, she gained in-depth exposure to various functional areas within the Bahamas Development Bank, including Legal Affairs, Asset Recovery and Delinquency, Strategic Development and Initiatives, Credit, Document Control, and Banking Operations.
This cross departmental training strengthened both her technical competencies and professional soft skills. Upon graduation, she transitioned seamlessly into a full-time role at the Bank. Her journey is a testament to the program’s commitment to developing future Bahamian financial leaders.
